It is the second-highest peak in the Cascade Range and the fifth-highest in California. The mountain features two summits, with the eastern summit being the higher point.
Mount Shasta City is situated at an elevation of approximately 3,563 to 3,585 feet (1,086–1,093 meters) above sea level.
Located at the base of the 14,179-foot volcanic peak, the city serves as a popular high-altitude hub for recreation in Northern California's Siskiyou County.

Only if you want one. It’s always nice to have independence. However, I will have my car and can seat up to 4 people, 5 total.
Mt. Shasta is a small, only few street town, so IF you can find a place downtown you can walk everywhere and I can pick you up for the events.

You can fly into San Fransisco and rent a car to drive 4.5-5 hours North to Mt. Shasta.
Or fly into Redding CA. The best way to get from Redding to Mount Shasta without a car is to take a bus which takes 1h 5m and costs $18 - $28.
Best to rent a place or hotel in the downtown area, to be able to walk if you are coming from Redding.

The sooner you book, the better. There are all kinds of choices within one’s budget or to share with friends.
Next would be to research hotels and their locations.

Mount Shasta is home to a diverse array of wildlife, with common sightings including black bears, mule deer, coyotes, and mountain lions.
The region features varied habitats supporting species like golden eagles, red-tailed hawks, and marmots, while the surrounding area includes animals such as porcupines, bald eagles, and various waterfowl.
More than likely we will not be seeing any of these animals. I have yet to encounter them.
